Our community’s vision is to be vibrant in worship, to be welcoming, diverse and inclusive, to be educated in faith, a people of justice, stewards of time, talent and treasure, to be evangelizing and to be attentive and responsive to current church and world issues. Our hope is that this vision will be reflected in our Faith Formation Programs.

We believe that faith formation is rooted in Scripture, centered on the living Body of Christ, and celebrates a loving God. We recognize that all life is by day...for a lifetime...and we want to engage people of all ages in the process of growing in their faith.

Adult Ministry

Ø      A process, not a program;

Ø      Parish is the curriculum: quality worship, shared decision making, budget priorities, commitment to social justice, involvement in ministry

Ø      Formation occurs in every aspect of life.

The Faith Formation component of Adult Ministry is part of Whole Community Catechesis “Adult catechesis must be given priority” (GDC art 258).

Men’s Bible Fellowship meets to discuss the Scripture Reading in the Parish Center every Friday morning at 6:30 a.m.

Sunday Morning Centering Prayer meets at 7:45 a.m. in the Parish Center

Small Faith Communities have been formed and meet on a regular basis.

Contact the Parish Center for information on these groups.

RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults)

The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults is a sacramental formation process that prepares individuals and communities for a particular way of life. Conversion is at the heart of that way of life and RCIA facilitates the conversion experience. The initiation process helps individuals begin to name God’s manifestation in their lives and then to connect their experience with the living tradition of the Catholic community through questioning, challenging, searching and resolving.

We at St. Anthony join with our Regional Parishes of St. Margaret-St. John and St. Cecilia for the Rite of Christian Initiation classes approximately once a week for those wishing to explore where God is calling them.

Contact TBA in the Parish Center (513) 271-0920 ext. 12 for more information on all Faith Formation Opportunities.

Other Sacramental Preparation Programs

All sacramental preparation is family-centered.

Quarterly sessions are held for parents of infants through Grade 1. Children age 7 and older are asked to participate in the Rite of Christian Initiation for Children and participate in weekly classes.

Celebrated during Advent with the Parish Community. Preparation as a family for the sacrament begins after the October Orientation meeting.

1st Eucharist

Celebrated during the 8:30 a.m. or 11:30 a.m. Liturgies on the third Sunday of May. Family Preparation: “Do This in Memory of Me” takes place in the spring. The Blessing Cup Meal and a mini-retreat are part of the preparation. Children must be registered and attend classes for 2 years.

Celebrated every other year, with PMAAC (Parishes Ministering in African American Communities). Candidates and parents come together for orientation. The candidates will receive a schedule stating time, date and place for meetings. Added to that will be a retreat for the candidates and group service projects.

Contact TBA in the Parish Center (513) 271-0920 ext. 12 for more information on all Sacramental Preparation Programs.
